I don’t know of too many people who enjoy tests of any type, but sometimes they are necessary to make sure we are adequately prepared to catch any areas in which we may be lacking. For example, would you want a doctor, nurse or EMT treating you, after a brief time in training, who simply said “I’m ready”? NO- you want someone who has studied, practiced with the supervision of others and taken test after test to make sure they’ve retained what they have been taught.
The same comes with our walk with the Lord. Many of us get really excited in the beginning and think we are ready and barrel out with enthusiasm until the hard things come. What do we do when they come? Do we automatically begin to question the Lord and His faithfulness or do we see it as it is, a test of our faith? Will we continue to praise His name and carry on, while asking, “what am I to learn”? “Lord how am I to prepare for when the really hard times come”? “These past several months have tested us all. It truly has been one thing after another. How have we fared? (Myself – definitely some days better than others). Have we stopped to ask for the wisdom that He promises us when we ask in Faith?”
[click_to_tweet tweet=”If we allow Him to test and work out in us what He desires we will have the endurance to finish well and receive the crown at the end of our race. Keep on!!! – (Read: James 1:1-12)” quote=”If we allow Him to test and work out in us what He desires we will have the endurance to finish well and receive the crown at the end of our race. Prayer
Father, you said to ask for wisdom when we are uncertain as to how to proceed forward. I am asking now and I believe that while these times are uncertain for me, they are not a surprise to You or outside of your ability to lead me through them. Thank you for your wisdom. In Jesus name, amen.
