During my study this morning in Jan Hicks’ book titled, “Crossing 2 Freedom”, I paused for some time to think of all the wasted time in my life I’ve spent looking back on mistakes and regrets. Lamenting on the many bad decisions that we all make. And as I read today’s passage in Philippians 3:13-14 it was yet another gentle reminder of how God wants us to be a forward thinker not a rearward regretter. And how if He forgives and forgets why shouldn’t I. So simple a thought or concept. Yet we hold and hang onto those things not so favorable in times past that prevent us from enjoying the joys in present time.
Good Ole Paul the Apostle says forget those things in the rearview mirror and reach for those things ahead. Reach he says. That is awesome to think of the zeal in this message. People let go of your past! Stop the “Stinking Thinking” and move on. There is so much freedom in so few words. May God richly bless you and those you love today.
Prayer
Thank you Father, that as we choose to forgive others we ourselves are forgiven and made free. Lord, thank you for the blood of Jesus that was shed for all of us. Help me to remember that we all have feet of clay, therefore we are all in need of repentance and forgiveness alike. Thank you that you are faithful. Help me to be a person who is quick to forgive and to never keep a record heaven has chosen to delete. In Jesus name, Amen.
