“I’ve been thinking of this picture all morning. This big brother completely overwhelmed with emotion as he held his long awaited baby sister for the first time. He buried his face in her blanket, took a deep breath, and then released an even deeper sigh of contentment.”
I feel a stirring in my spirit there are those who are growing weary in the waiting. They know what God said. They know He is able to fulfill His promise to them. But they’re tired. So tired of holding on to something they can’t see yet. Their eyes dim with tears as they try to keep believing.
I believe all of us are waiting for something. Maybe it isn’t a baby but there’s something you believe is a promise over your life and it is… just barely… outside of your grasp. Or maybe it feels light years away and hopeless. God has a plan but He also has a time. Hold on dear one. Your moment is coming. Get ready to take that deep breath and release that sigh of contentment.
Abba, thank you that in Christ your promises are always yes and amen. Grant us the wisdom and patience to not grow weary but to wait as our forefathers of old did until the promise comes to fruition. We love you and believe you are able to sustain us along with all that you have promised until the very end. In Jesus name. Amen.
